Convivialism
Résumé
The Convivialist Manifesto was produced by the MAUSS (Mouvement Anti-Utilitariste dans les Sciences Sociales, Anti-Utilitarianism Movement in Social Sciences). The movement’s name is a nod to Marcel Mauss, and the idea is an extension of the Frankfurt School’s Critical Theory. The manifesto was published in France in 2013, and has been translated into some ten languages. In view of the widespread success of the publication, convivialism has become a school of political thought and movement. Its aim is to radically alter social and political thinking, and in so doing, to transform global society.
